An Open Letter
To: Rep. Lee
From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV
April 21
I’m a constituent writing to urge you to vote NO on H.R. 1897, expected on the House floor this week.
The Endangered Species Act has kept 99% of listed species from extinction since 1973. This bill would undermine that record by injecting economic considerations into listing decisions, slowing protections for imperiled species while fast-tracking delistings, narrowing critical habitat, and restricting judicial review. It could even allow zoo or hatchery populations to count toward delisting — regardless of whether a species can survive in the wild.
The ESA has broad public support across party lines. Please vote no.
