I’m writing today because I know that Senator Tim Kaine is expected to force a vote this week on a War Powers resolution to prevent further military operations in Venezuela. I want the Senator to support it. Congress seems sidelined and the Constitution’s checks and balances totally disregarded—this must change immediately. In the absence of meaningful congressional oversight, the U.S. risks creating a dangerous precedent in which military might—not a sovereign nation’s own people—determine who has power. It is time for Congress to reassert its power and stop this lawless president! Thanks.
