An Open Letter

To: Gov. Cox, Sen. Pitcher, Rep. Moss

From: A constituent in Holladay, UT

February 2

I live in Salt Lake County. I frequently drive in downtown Salt Lake, and my partner frequently rides his bike downtown. I have felt so much more secure in his safety since the protected bike lanes were put in, and I am happier as driver knowing that the likelihood of me hitting a cyclist is reduced by these lanes. I've read that the Utah legislature is considering forcing Salt Lake City to rip these protected lanes out despite the clear benefits of keeping them, not to mention the cost. Please leave these bike lanes alone and keep our cyclists safe.
