Publicly condemn the Islamiphobic hate speech being made by Republican leaders.

To: Gov. McMaster, Rep. Oremus, Sen. Massey

From: A verified voter in North Augusta, SC

March 13

Please publically speak out against the Islamophobic hate speech being peddle by some of the US Congress Republicans. This is not what we want the Republican party to be known for. Dehumanizing language like this makes everyone less safe. Hate speech should not be acceptable, not matter who it is aimed at. Additionally, please call for your party to censore of members of Congress making these hateful public comments. They are wholly unfitting for our government leaders. When a person in a leadership role uses hate speech so openly, people in our local communities feel emboldened to do the same. This will result in violence if it isn't stopped. This is not who we are as Americans or as South Carolinians.
