Veto Senate Bill 104
To: Gov. DeWine
From: A verified voter in Fairview Park, OH
November 16
The passage of Senate Bill 104 is a harmful and discriminatory attack on the rights and privacy of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in Ohio. This bill will create unsafe environments by forcing students to use restrooms that do not align with their gender identity, putting them at increased risk of harassment, bullying, and even sexual violence. Transgender people already face disproportionately higher rates of sexual assault, particularly in public restrooms. All Ohioans deserve to access facilities that correspond with their gender identity without fear. Senate Bill 104 is a cruel invasion of privacy that could lead to unwarranted disclosure of personal information. It disregards the real threat of violence that the transgender community faces daily. As such, I urge you to veto Senate Bill 104 and protect the rights, dignity, and safety of LGBTQ+ Ohioans across the state.
