I am writing to express serious concern about the deplorable conditions reportedly experienced aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. Sailors deserve a safe, sanitary, and properly maintained environment in which to live and serve. Conditions that fall below these basic standards can negatively affect morale, health, and readiness. We have spent BILLIONS of dollars on the U.S. military and we can’t provide the basics to those who are protecting our freedom? Absolutely ridiculous. I urge leadership to investigate these concerns promptly, address any deficiencies, and ensure the crew is provided the living conditions they deserve.
