I am a 70 year old widow. My husband was in the Air Force and served in intelligence in Turkey during the Vietnam War. Cliff had a 2 year engineering degree. He returned to the Iowa Quad Cities after his military service. He went to work at Caterpillar .... and then they shut down. He went to work at CadCam .... and then they shut down. He went to work for Red Jacket because water and gasoline was always going to be needed .... but again, they shut down. In the meantime ... my husband became ill. And with health insurance, we ended up $70,000 in debt. We did not file bankruptcy but we pulled up our boots ... we each had 2 jobs and carried a paper route and paid $70,000 off in 3 years. My husband died of a rare lung cancer that the University of Iowa suspected was caused chemicals from the fields that surround us. I was left with a house, my very small farm, a smaller life insurance policy ... and social security. And now ... with no authorization from Congress ... Elon Musk and his musk rats are snooping in my private information. I did not authorize that. And to add insult to injury ... as a Silos and Smokestacks partner site ... all 2025 funding is frozen so no visitors guides will be printed. I didn't vote for Elon Musk. I sincerely doubt if he could pass security clearance to see our nation's secrets and our private information. The list is long of the laws that have been "dodged" in this administration. In less than 2 weeks. The House controls the purse strings. The Senate provides oversight. And if you guys don't step up and protect your constituents.... maybe you should receive the Fork in the Road letter.
