Halt dangerous EPA rollbacks, protect public health and environment

To: Rep. Maloy, Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis

From: A constituent in Saint George, UT

April 22

The Trump administration's aggressive rollback of environmental regulations poses a grave threat to public health and the well-being of our nation. According to the EPA's own assessments, the targeted rules were projected to prevent nearly 200,000 premature deaths over the next 25 years by reducing harmful air and water pollution. Scrapping these safeguards will lead to a staggering increase in respiratory illnesses, heart conditions, and other serious health problems, disproportionately impacting vulnerable populations like children and those with asthma. Moreover, the economic benefits of these regulations far outweigh the costs, with the EPA estimating annual savings of $254 billion through averted healthcare expenses and lost productivity. This administration's reckless pursuit of deregulation at all costs prioritizes corporate profits over human lives and jeopardizes the long-term well-being of our society. We urge you to take immediate action to halt these dangerous rollbacks and uphold the EPA's core mission of protecting public health and the environment. The future of our planet, and the health of countless Americans, depends on your leadership in this critical matter.
