An Open Letter

To: Sen. Hawley

From: A constituent in Republic, MO

June 29, 2025

Just over a month ago you wrote an op ed in the New York Times urging congress not to cut Medicaid. Last night you voted "yes" in a procedural vote that would do just that should the full bill pass. My family of three will most likely not be able to afford our marketplace insurance premiums if this bill becomes law. Missourians will lose care. Rural Missouri hospitals will close. I urge you to stand by your convictions, your original gut reaction, and vote NO on the OBBBA. It will irreparably harm Missouri families and its health care infrastructure.
