Stop trying to repeal Prop 4!

To: Rep. Maloy

From: A constituent in South Salt Lake, UT

February 12

Dear Rep. Maloy, I am writing because I am concerned about your involvement in trying to repeal Prop 4 in Utah. As you know, Prop 4 was voted on by the majority of Utahns and put on the ballot because enough signatures were gathered by the citizens of Utah. As one of the citizens that voted for Prop 4, I am disturbed that you (along with Rep. Owen’s) are trying to undermine the will of the Utah voters. Not only are you filling a lawsuit, you and your fellow Republicans are involved in signature campaigns trying to get Prop 4 repealed. The signature gatherers I have encountered are mostly of African American descent, and are from out of state. You were also involved with Scott Pressler, an out-of-state activist (who is gay, interestingly enough), at a Prop 4 repeal event in Sandy Utah recently. All of these out-of-state people that the Republicans are bringing in can only mean that they don’t have enough support in Utah for this campaign. I wonder why that is?? Perhaps you can focus your energies on the President and his cabinet from destroying our democracy and freedoms? Just a thought. Thank you so much.
