Oppose SB 1346

To: Rep. Mickelsen, Sen. Cook, Rep. Bingham

From: A constituent in Ammon, ID

March 3

I oppose Senate Bill 1346.This bill will put more Idaho children at risk, and your no vote on this proposed legislation is how we can keep our families safe. Public health is always evolving. The medical advancements and health successes we have today seem downright impossible 20 years ago, and it is all because we allow our scientific community to put in the work and lead the way. Immunizations are a key part of this. Serious diseases, such as polio, mumps, rubella, and scarlet fever, have all but been eradicated from our communities. But as we see less people trust the decades of work that go into these life-saving vaccines that have greatly helped extend our lifespans, deadly diseases like measles are making a comeback and putting all our families at risk. Vaccination is also how we keep those with compromised immune systems safe. Public health is community health, and we should be allowed to use all medical options that are currently available to protect ourselves, our families, and our fellow Idahoans. This bill would not only stall medical innovation in this state that could help save countless more lives but also prevent the use of critical tools proven to combat serious illness. Please put the safety of our children, our communities, and our state first. Vote NO on Senate Bill 1346.
