Among them are nine military veterans who were participating in a humanitarian mission to provide essential food and medicine to civilians in Gaza. Their capture in international waters raises significant concerns regarding international law. This incident is deeply troubling, and it is vital that we advocate for their prompt release. Historically, the United States has taken a strong stance against human rights violations and genocide, and I believe we have an obligation to uphold that legacy today. I respectfully request that you push for the immediate release of all members of the Global Sumud Flotilla and reconsider the provision of funding and military support that may contribute to ongoing humanitarian crises.
