It's insane that WA does not prohibit child abusers from homeschooling children.

To: Rep. Richards, Sen. Krishnadasan, Rep. Valdez, Gov. Ferguson

From: A constituent in Bremerton, WA

November 5

Again I ask you to dedicate legislative time to reforming our state's homeschooling laws. There is no reason CONVICTED child abusers should be allowed to homeschool their children. Frankly this country's obsession with homeschooling is atrocious and shows in our education levels compared to the rest of the west. Most developed countries only allow homeschooling in very niche cases, such as the child having extreme immunocompromisation. AT THE VERY LEAST convicted child abusers should be prohibited from homeschooling children. That's just basic common sense and it's insane we don't already have a law like that on the books.
