I'm reaching out today to urge you to oppose the House Budget Resolution and protect Medicaid.
More than 80 million Americans depend on Medicaid for health coverage, including 17 million older adults and individuals with disabilities. Medicaid is a critical lifeline, helping families afford care, supporting older adults and people with disabilities, and ensuring access to comprehensive health services.
The House Budget Resolution requires at least $880 billion in reductions from the committee that oversees Medicaid. That level of savings can only be achieved through detrimental changes to the Medicaid program, there is no other way.
Any cuts to Medicaid will force states to reduce or deny services and eligibility, negatively impacting the health and wellbeing of people with disabilities, as well as older adults, family caregivers and their children, direct care workers, and other low-income individuals.
Access to health care coverage is a matter of life, death, and independence for millions of Americans with disabilities. I urge you to stand up for Medicaid and ensure that it remains fully funded and protected by opposing the House Budget Resolution. Millions of lives depend on it.
