Over the long weekend, a letter from Trump to our European allies demanded U.S. control over Greenland. The letter is problematic on every level--from the childish language/grammar to the unhealthy obsession with the Nobel prize, to confusing the Nobel committee with the country of Norway, it conveys the complete failure of its author to understand geopolitical realities. It looks like a joke.
However, it does not appear to be intended as one. Any reasonable, rational Congress person (Republicans and Democrats alike!) should be calling for inquiries at the least and impeachment or the 25th Amendment at the most. This madness must be stopped, and Congress in a position to stop it.
You were ELECTED to be a voice of reason for the good of this nation. Stephen Miller, who appears to have the President's ear on this and other matters, was not elected and does not have the will of the American people supporting him. The consequences of invading Greenland to the US economy alone--far less our global reputation and risk of WWIII should keep you awake at night.
Please find and use your backbone to stand against the insanity of attacking our allies to satisfy Stephen Miller. Don't wait for the military operations to commence--say now, clearly and unequivocally, that nothing of the sort will be permitted on your watch. For this nation, speak out against any additional attempts to claim Greenland. This rhetoric has gone too far already!
