As your constituent, I urge you to support legislation to cut prescription drug costs by at least 50% through Medicare price negotiation. I have personally had to rely on free clinics and donated medications to stay alive because I cannot afford my prescribed life-saving drugs. My parent also struggles to afford medications on a fixed income.
The same medications that cost hundreds of dollars here cost a fraction in other countries. For example, insulin that costs $300 in the U.S. costs just $30 in Canada. This price disparity is devastating families in our district/state.
Please support:
- Allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices
- Capping out-of-pocket prescription costs
- Enabling safe importation from Canada
I would appreciate a response outlining your position and planned actions on this issue.
