There are many reasons why voters should reject our incumbent 6th Congressional District representative Glenn Grothman. He now claims to be independent, but that is a total lie. MAGA/Trumpian all the way. He said “I love you” to Pam Bondi at a Justice Committee hearing on the Epstein files. He is on the immigration committee, and has done nothing to make the situation any better. Seems to have no problem with people being shipped and disappearing all over the world. He has a law license. What a joke? Where’s due process? He made a term limits promise to quit after ten years (five terms), but has completed six terms at this point, going for seven. Rep. Grothman is supporting AI development, and says they can regulate themselves. This is in spite of environmental damage already occurring, and warnings of risks which could lead to the end of the world. Rep. Glenn Grothman defends Trump's $1.8 billion dollar MAGA slush fund. It is described as temporarily blocked. but could give millions of dollars per person to the January 6th convicted persons that Trump PARDONED. Grothman said the program is necessary to vindicate Trump in the "court of history": "Hopefully this will prevent future Justice Departments from going after their political enemies." That is a direct quote from Grothman. IS HE NUTS?!? These are the very people who may cause chaos on election day, or try to block persons who are elected from being sworn in. These are the people who are calling for CIVIL WAR, many of whom have military and mercenary backgrounds. He supported allowing copper mining by a rich South American mining company, friend of Donald Trump’s, in the Minnesota Boundary Waters area, which will likely poison the pristine waters and kill fish and other wildlife, and the copper gets shipped to China. Studies have shown much more economic vibrancy for pristine wilderness tourism than mere one time extraction and despoilation. And he voted for gutting the EPA and blocked all moves for preservation and against global warning, according to conservation groups. Does he deny global warning? And he certainly does not support equal pay; thinks men should earn more than women, as if women don’t have to support families. Much more to say, but that is it for starters. In this heavily gerrymandered district in 2014, Grothman won the Republican primary by 219 votes. When he won the general election, eighteen term incumbent Tom Petri who had stepped down refused to endorse Grothman’s candidacy. Smart man. Since then, the Republican vote has deteriorated, down to about 55-45%. This can be won. The tide is turning against Grothman, with many excellent candidates running against him all over the 6th district. We’ve got a shot to have much better representation in the 6th.
