Vote No on Cutting Funding to Public Broadcasting and NPR

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine

From: A constituent in Pilot, VA

July 16

I’m writing to respectfully urge you to vote no on any proposal to cut funding for public broadcasting and NPR. My family, like many others in our community, relies on the programming provided by PBS and NPR. Shows like PBS Kids offer safe, educational content that supports early learning and positive social development. As parents, we value the trustworthiness and quality of this programming—something that’s increasingly hard to find. Beyond children’s content, public broadcasting offers news and cultural programming that is in-depth, balanced, and accessible to all, regardless of income or background. It helps build an informed and engaged community. Public broadcasting is a vital service, not a luxury. Please stand up for families like mine and the many others across the state who benefit from and believe in the mission of public media. Thank you for your time and for your service.
