The House of Representatives must act to defend the Constitution from escalating threats of authoritarianism. Donald Trump has shown open contempt for democratic norms, the rule of law, and the peaceful transfer of power. His embrace of the unitary executive theory and proposals that shield him from judicial review are profoundly dangerous. He continues to incite political division and spread disinformation that undermines faith in our electoral system. His plans include punishing opponents, curbing rights, and using the presidency for personal vengeance, not public service. weapon—it is a constitutional safeguard. Congress has the authority and responsibility to check these abuses through impeachment if necessary. Impeachment is not a political Richard Nixon famously stepped down facing political pressure from your oversight committee. If Trump is allowed to pursue unchecked power without consequence, the entire structure of our republic is at risk. whether Trump’s actions and rhetoric warrant impeachment. We ask the House Judiciary Committee to open an investigation into The people deserve leaders who honor the rule of law, not bend it to their will. We cannot wait until the damage is irreversible. The time to act is now. Project 2025, and the actions of this administration have tainted the American people and their name across the world. If you show your cowardice to the world, then you are on the wrong side of history. If you show courage and exercise your duty as representatives of the democratic republic of America, then we may have a chance at redemption on the world stage.
