*Half A Century in Office! Congressional Queen - End Your Reign. #ByeFelisha

To: Rep. Kaptur

From: A constituent in Toledo, OH

October 24

Almost half a century in office. Generations of voters. And still, the same seat. You have secured your place in history as the longest-serving woman in congressional history. The question now is whether you will make room for someone else to serve. Ohio’s Ninth District deserves a future beyond one person’s tenure. New leadership should have room to develop, earn the public’s trust, and bring new ideas to Washington. Every two years, you come around like Felisha, asking to borrow our VCR: Votes, Cash & Registration. Seniority is something voters are asked to keep protecting. But what is the plan for the next generation? How much longer are they supposed to wait? A congressional seat belongs to the people. It is not a lifetime appointment, an inheritance, or the throne of a Congressional Queen! I am asking you to retire from Congress and make room for new leadership. Publicly announce your retirement and give the district a clear answer about when your tenure will end. You have the record for longevity. You have earned over $6 million in congressional salary at our expense, with eligibility for a congressional pension and retirement benefits many in our district will never see! You have the titles. You have secured your place in history. You have fought for leadership roles and lost against those with less seniority within your own party. The writing is on the wall. After almost 50 years, your colleagues just don’t see it for you. Let the next generation have an opportunity. No Kings? We say, No Congressional Queens! It’s time to END THE REIGN. #ByeFelisha
