As a citizen and a Fulbright scholar I implore you to reject this administration's attempt to cut foreign exchange programs by 68%, essentially gutting the Fulbright program.
The Fulbright Program and other initiatives that would be crippled by this cut are among the USA's greatest diplomatic innovations. This administration has left far more taxpayer treasure strewn across the Iranian desert to no avail than these programs, which are actually investments, not expenditures, "cost." These programs enrich the lives of North Carolinians by bringing scholars to our state, and improve our position in the world by sending representatives of the USA far and wide. Thus, I urge you to keep the foreign exchange programs, including Fulbright, fully funded.
