I am writing as a concerned citizen to urge Congress to exercise robust oversight of recent federal actions at the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center in Georgia. On January 28, 2026, the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Fulton County elections facility, seizing ballots, tabulator tapes, digital ballot images, and voter rolls from the 2020 presidential election.
This operation occurred against the backdrop of continued claims by President Donald Trump about alleged fraud in the 2020 election — claims that have been repeatedly rejected by courts, Georgia election officials, and federal investigations. The involvement and appearance of the Director of National Intelligence at the scene has raised significant questions about the role of federal agencies in what many perceive as a highly charged political dispute.
The integrity, security, and accessibility of election records is essential to public confidence in our democratic system. Any federal action involving the seizure or relocation of ballots and election materials — particularly those stored under state and local authority — must be transparent, well-justified, and insulated from political influence.
For the sake of free and fair elections in 2026, I respectfully urge you to:
Demand a thorough, nonpartisan explanation of the legal basis for the Fulton County operation and the current location and custodial status of the seized materials;
Hold hearings on the appropriate use of federal law enforcement and intelligence resources in matters involving election administration; and
Advance safeguards that protect voter records and election infrastructure from political manipulation.
Our democracy depends on adherence to the rule of law and the public’s confidence that every vote will be counted and protected.
