The recently signed law in Ohio banning transgender students from using bathrooms and facilities that align with their gender identity is extremely concerning. It unfairly targets a vulnerable group of young people and puts their wellbeing at risk. Transgender youth already face disproportionately high rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation due to discrimination and lack of support. Forcing them to use restrooms that conflict with their core identity will only exacerbate these issues and make schools an even more hostile environment. All students deserve to feel safe, respected, and able to fully participate - this law undermines those basic rights for trans kids. I urge you to speak out against this discriminatory policy and work to repeal it so that Ohio schools can be inclusive, supportive places for all students. Protecting trans youth should be a top priority.
