Demand for Accountability: Extortion of Infrastructure Funding

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Owens

From: A verified voter in Springville, UT

February 7

I am writing to express my deep concern and outrage regarding recent reports that the administration is leveraging federal funding for critical infrastructure projects—specifically the Gateway Tunnel—in exchange for renaming Dulles International Airport. This is a clear attempt to extort the country and its taxpayers for personal vanity. As my representative, your silence on this matter is deafening. If a Democratic president attempted to withhold billions of dollars in essential transit funding to force a naming convention, the outcry from your office would be immediate and relentless. By failing to speak out against this abuse of power, you are signaling your complicity in a transactional approach to governance that prioritizes ego over the safety and economic stability of our region. Why have you not publicly condemned this? I am calling on you to stand up for your constituents, protect our infrastructure from political ransom, and demand that federal funding be allocated based on merit and public need, not personal demands. I look forward to hearing your public stance on this issue.
