For those of us paying attention we’ve moved through this year with a sense off impending doom. We’ve watched the Republican administration tear apart our government and disrupt the global order that has kept peace in the world for 80 years. Again and again we wonder when Congress will be a check on executive power and again and again we watch in astonishment how you all just let it happen. How you are a partner in the destruction of our phenomenal country. I’m sitting here on my patio while an orchestra of birds are chirping in the Easter green trees above me. My instinct is to catch up on the latest news & analysis & insanity of our government, but instead I’m going to write this quick letter and then get back to the birds and the cool breeze and the beauty of this Easter weekend. These things remain, and we can’t ever stop losing ourselves in the wonder of life. You’re creating your legacy. Donald trump’s America is your America. It’s not too late to get on the right of history. I promise you’ll be in good company. Once again I urge you: choose peace, choose truth, choose justice, choose unity. Whatever happens next we are all in this together, whether we recognize it or not. We’ll rise or fall together, and you’ll make either one happen.
