Good morning! It is being widely reported that Trump’s administration has closed the Powell investigation. Naturally, there was never any reason to open it to begin with other than Trump’s compulsive need to harass people he cannot otherwise control, but that isn’t why they closed it. It turns out that as Trump is attempting to have another official confirmed, he was thwarted by a congressman who leveraged the investigation against his vote. Trump complied because it was in his own best interests- just like every other decision he’s ever made. The justice department is not meant to carry out vanity operations against people whose opinions rival the president’s. Our tax dollars are not intended to pay for ego driven attacks on Trump’s political detractors. The fact that the investigation could be so easily leveraged is proof that there were no crimes there to begin with. Tell Trump to stop using our tax dollars to persecute his enemies!
