An Open Letter

To: Sen. Cassidy, Sen. Kennedy, Rep. Letlow

From: A constituent in Denham Springs, LA

May 5

As a Louisiana voter, I am writing to express serious concern regarding the actions of Attorney General Liz Murrill and the impact those actions are having on women’s healthcare, safety, and autonomy in our state. Her office’s aggressive legal positions on reproductive healthcare reflect a broader pattern of using women’s bodies and lives as political leverage in pursuit of power. The continued push to expand enforcement, including efforts that reach beyond state lines, is creating fear, confusion, and real risk for both patients and medical providers. Equally concerning is the role that rhetoric and selective framing of information play in shaping these policies. When complex medical and legal issues are reduced to political talking points, it undermines public understanding and places women in increasingly vulnerable positions. Women are dying as a direct result of her policies and extremism. These actions are not theoretical—they directly affect access to care, delay critical treatment, and force deeply personal medical decisions into a legal battleground. I am asking you to do the following: • Publicly state your opposition on Attorney General Liz Murrill’s handling of reproductive healthcare enforcement • Support transparency regarding the legal strategies being pursued • Advocate for oversight and accountability where these actions may be causing harm to Louisiana residents As your constituent, I expect leadership that prioritizes the health, safety, and dignity of women—not policies that place them at risk. I will be paying close attention to your response and your actions moving forward.
