Stop SB 293: Protect Ohio Voters

To: Gov. DeWine

From: A verified voter in Columbus, OH

December 18

I urge you to VETO Senate Bill 293 and protect Ohio’s democratic process. Hundreds of thousands of Ohio voters across the state rely on our absentee ballot process, especially those living in rural communities, Ohio seniors and those with disabilities, and voters without reliable transportation. Ohio’s elections are incredibly safe and secure. Eliminating the four-day window for Boards of Elections to receive eligible ballots only hurts voters and shuts them out from participating in democracy. Instead of working to address real issues at the ballot box, SB 293 unnecessarily creates further barriers. Ohio’s elections are safe and accurate. Our communities want increased accessibility for voting options – not cumbersome legislation seeking to fix nonexistent issues. Lawmakers must prioritize a strong, inclusive democracy and ensure every eligible citizen can vote. I strongly urge you to stand up for Ohio voters and veto SB 293.
