Vote to remove Section 219 from the National Defense Authorization Act. This provision would permanently merge American and Israeli military operations — joint weapons development, mandatory intelligence sharing, and a ban on the president limiting that collaboration even in response to human rights abuses. It would make the US more militarily integrated with Israel than with any NATO ally, and it's being buried in a must-pass bill precisely because it couldn't survive a standalone vote. The American public has shifted dramatically on this. Pew data shows 60% of adults now hold an unfavorable view of Israel, up from 42% in 2022 — including 57% of young Republicans and 84% of young Democrats. Rep. Adam Smith, ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee, already withdrew his support, stating he will vote to remove the provision if it reaches the floor. Once this is enshrined in law, future presidents and Congresses will have almost no ability to reverse it. That's the point. Don't let a permanent foreign policy commitment get snuck through on a must-pass bill. Strip this provision now.
