By investing in community based care and addressing the systemic disparities that lead to higher maternal mortality rates, our state can fill the void left by federal abandonment. Investment in prenatal and neonatal care improves outcomes for every family in North Carolina regardless of their background. When we protect the health of mothers and newborns, we are investing in the long term economic and social stability of our entire state.
