As we move into Memorial Day weekend and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, I would ask that you consider how none of what is happening right now is normal. It is NOT normal for a president to encourage violent rioters to storm the Capitol, beating police and chanting hang “Mike Pence.” it is NOT normal for a president to pardon violent criminals while spreading lies that fit his narrative. It is NOT normal for a president to create a slush fund to give $1.776 billion to those who commit crimes and violence on his behalf. Donald Trump is an insult to those- whom he calls suckers and losers- who gave their lives for the ideal of liberty and justice for all. I urge you to remember what Memorial Day is and ask that you fulfill YOUR oath and stop enabling the destruction of all that good and worthy of those who’ve given all. PS my grandfather was the captain of a ship that was torpedoed by the Nazis. He survived, but so many American heroes did not. I’m glad he’s not here to see what you all have done to our country. Shame on you.
