Reject discriminatory birth certificate requirements for transgender individuals

This Bill Creates Medically Unnecessary and Discriminatory Barriers for Transgender People Seeking Accurate Birth Certificates AZ HB2438 imposes harmful restrictions on transgender individuals by requiring "sex change operations" and court orders to update the gender marker on birth certificates. This bill fails to account for the diversity of transgender experiences and unduly burdens people's right to self-determination. Policies should respect human dignity and facilitate accessible, self-identified processes to update identity documents without invasive medical requirements. I urge opposition to AZ HB2438 in favor of more inclusive approaches.
