Stop trafficking U.S. civilians
To: Justices Court
From: A constituent in Lititz, PA
April 16
The Trump administration's plan to traffic US civilians, including those without criminal records, to foreign prisons like the notorious gulag in El Salvador is a flagrant violation of constitutional rights and human dignity. Despite a unanimous Supreme Court order to rescue Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an innocent Maryland father wrongfully imprisoned in El Salvador, the administration continues to defy the law and judicial system. Encouraging the construction of more foreign prisons to detain so-called "homegrown criminals" without due process is a terrifying escalation of Trump's authoritarianism that cannot be tolerated. It is imperative that Congress takes immediate action to halt this unconscionable practice and hold the administration accountable. Forceful condemnation and legislative measures must be pursued to shut down the unlawful trafficking of detainees to foreign gulags, demand Abrego Garcia's release, and initiate impeachment proceedings against those responsible for violating the Constitution and the rule of law. Failure to act will only embolden further erosion of civil liberties and human rights protections for all Americans.
