While Trump-loyal Republicans claim they are going to address the health insurance issue in the coming months, the ACA Marketplace is opening on November 1st! With only weeks remaining until the opening of the Marketplace, there needs to be an expedited resolution. Americans cannot afford to wait. Every day of this shutdown negatively impacts our economy and puts unnecessary strain on hardworking citizens. Craft a budget bill that ensures the continuation of health care subsidies and reopens the government. Vote for a solution that protects the health care of millions of Americans and ensures the financial income of our government-paid workers. Also, be prepared to push the Trump Administration to share its "solution" to provide a better healthcare system for working-class Americans. From "concept of a plan" (Trump) to "lots of ideas", and they "have members working on that" (Mike Johnson) the Republicans have had years and multiple opportunities to fix the healthcare system during Trump’s term. The Republicans have produced nothing viable within that time. The Democratic Party also needs to bring a better healthcare system to the table. The status quo is not acceptable. The ACA needs to be improved. Even with tax premium credits the premiums are still too expensive when considering the cost of living. Wealth inequality is crippling our society. Prepare to take on insurance companies. The US is the richest country on Earth, yet the US is the only major country not guaranteeing healthcare for all Americans. Shameful. Do better Democratic Party. Sincerely.
