Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid: Urgent Action Needed in Israel-Palestine

To: Gov. Inslee, Rep. Pollet, Sen. Valdez, Rep. Farivar

From: A constituent in Seattle, WA

December 26, 2023

The escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in a humanitarian catastrophe, with civilian casualties, particularly children, rising rapidly. Indiscriminate rocket fire continues to endanger lives, while the blockade of Gaza exacerbates the struggle for survival. Serious violations of international humanitarian law, including war crimes, persist. It is crucial to implement an immediate ceasefire to halt unlawful attacks, address the humanitarian crisis, negotiate hostage releases, and initiate international investigations into war crimes. The system of apartheid imposed on Palestinians must also be dismantled. We urge immediate action to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and demand an end to financial support for the war.
