Vote no on Kevin Warsh's nomination for Federal Reserve Chair. His refusal to acknowledge that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election during his confirmation hearing disqualifies him from leading an institution that must remain independent from political pressure.
When Senator Warren asked Warsh directly whether Biden won in 2020, he dodged the question entirely. This wasn't a political trap. It was a basic test of whether he can state facts without fear of angering the president who nominated him. He failed. If Warsh cannot answer a straightforward question about a certified election outcome, he will not stand up to Trump's stated desire to control Federal Reserve policy.
The Federal Reserve's independence protects our economy from short-term political manipulation. Trump has made clear he does not want an independent Fed. Warsh's evasiveness shows he will bend to that pressure rather than defend the institution's autonomy. We need a Fed Chair with the courage to prioritize economic stability over political loyalty.
Reject this nomination and demand a nominee who can demonstrate basic independence from the White House.
