Block the $1 Billion Taxpayer Bailout for Trump's Ballroom
To: Rep. Turner

Vote no on this bill until the $1 billion Secret Service provision for Trump's White House ballroom project is stripped out. Republicans buried it inside an immigration enforcement package, hoping no one would notice. We noticed.
The administration claims the ballroom itself is privately funded, so why are taxpayers on the hook for $1 billion in "security infrastructure"? A project that started at $200 million in private donations has somehow ballooned into a $1 billion charge to the public. That's not security spending — that's a subsidy for a presidential vanity project, and dressing it up with a citation to the White House Correspondents' Dinner doesn't make it legitimate.
This bill already hands ICE and CBP more than $60 billion with minimal oversight, on top of the $75 billion they just received through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Tucking a nine-figure presidential perk into that package is exactly the kind of abuse Sen. Warren called out: hypocrisy at its finest. Kill this provision before the June 1 deadline.
