I am writing to urge you to oppose the Trump administration’s dangerous escalation against Cuba.
Over the last several months, the administration has tightened sanctions and fuel restrictions that are worsening blackouts, shortages, and humanitarian suffering for the Cuban people.
At the same time, Trump has openly threatened Cuba’s sovereignty and floated the possibility of U.S. intervention.
We have already seen this playbook in countries like Venezuela and Iran: economic warfare, destabilization, collective punishment, and endless escalation that civilians ultimately pay the price for.
Congress cannot stay silent while the administration manufactures yet another humanitarian crisis and pushes the U.S. closer to another disastrous conflict.
I urge you to:
• Oppose any unauthorized military action against Cuba and force votes on war powers resolutions
• Reject funding for escalation or regime-change operations
• Push to end sanctions and restrictions harming Cuban civilians
• Demand diplomacy, humanitarian relief, and respect for Cuban sovereignty.
The Cuban people should not suffer because of reckless U.S. foreign policy. I urge you to act immediately.
