The postal service should remain independent from partisan control to ensure secure, nonpartisan administration of elections. Maintaining USPS autonomy preserves a vital democratic institution and protects the integrity of our electoral process. Any efforts to undermine or politicize this critical public service threaten free and fair elections and are truly frightening. The potential for abuse and manipulation of something so fundamental to our democracy is deeply unsettling and makes me feel profoundly insecure about the state of our nation. For the sake of our democracy and the sanctity of our elections, we must adamantly safeguard the non-partisan nature of the United States Postal Service.
