The administration's open defiance of court orders is an alarming attack on the judicial branch and the constitutional system of checks and balances. Ignoring binding rulings from federal judges undermines the rule of law and promotes authoritarianism over our democratic norms. This unprecedented resistance threatens to make the judiciary toothless and leaves the country without a functional way to constrain unlawful executive overreach. The separation of powers is a bedrock principle, and no branch should be able to unilaterally override the others. I urge you to speak out forcefully against these dangerous actions that erode our democratic institutions and move us toward autocracy. The courts must be able to serve as an independent check on the other branches of government for our system to properly function.
