As a constituent, I write urging you to stand with Senator Bernie Sanders and back his resolution to stop the sales of weapons to Israel. The Israeli government’s actions in Gaza and elsewhere have shown a reckless disregard for civilian life and an indifference to human suffering. They have gone far beyond defending themselves and will continue this violence until they face consequences. Americans, especially young people, are losing faith in our government over their blind support for Israel’s actions. Thousands of people in Israel are just as fed up with their warmongering leaders. If we are really a leader in the free world, we need to stand up for it. We need to stop sending weapons and use whatever leverage we have to demand a ceasefire before more civilians die and this war spreads even further.
