Vote Yes on SB4214: AI Data Center Moratorium

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Owens

From: A verified voter in West Jordan, UT

June 10

Vote yes on SB4214, the Artificial Intelligence Data Center Moratorium Act. We are building out AI infrastructure at a pace that has outrun any meaningful safety framework, and Congress has done nothing to close that gap. This bill creates the mandatory pause we need to get that right. The moratorium is straightforward: no new AI data centers get built until Congress passes real safety legislation. That's not an overreach — that's basic governance. The bill also adds export controls on computing hardware going to countries without comparable safety laws, which means we're not just protecting Americans but avoiding a global race to the bottom. Yes, there are economic tradeoffs. But the alternative is locking in an AI infrastructure buildout with no safety guardrails and no off-ramp. That's the worse bet. Vote yes.
