I am writing to express my outrage and disappointment over the campaign ad targeting Amy Acton and referencing the childhood sexual assault she endured. A person’s childhood trauma should never be used as political ammunition. Sexual assault survivors deserve dignity and respect, regardless of their political affiliation. Exploiting someone’s most painful experiences for political gain crosses a line that should concern every Ohioan. I am calling on you to rescind your endorsement of Vivek Ramaswamy and publicly condemn this type of campaigning. Political differences are one thing. Using childhood sexual assault as a campaign weapon is another. Ohio deserves political leadership that recognizes the difference.
