The current administration governing the United States is currently behaving no better than communist China or Soviet era Russia. The American people are being gaslit on a daily basis, from topics as serious as national security assessments to the mundane like monthly job reports. Non-partisan employees are being fired in favor of political sycophants, in order to dupe the American public. Not only that, but President Trump is trying to rewrite history within the Smithsonian system, going as far to erase his two historic and legitimate impeachments from exhibits. These actions are authoritarianism at their core! This country will cease to exist as a democracy if we cannot come together and live under one shared reality. Differing opinions regarding social issues and policy should be welcomed and debated, however there must be minimum set of facts that all recognize or at least acknowledge occurred. The Trump administration, and President Trump in particular, will go down in history as one of the most dishonest and corrupt this country has ever seen. I ask, as my representatives in Congress, that you work towards healing this country rather than placating an authoritarian leaning demagogue.
