Covid vaccine accessibility NOW

To: Sen. Sollman, Gov. Kotek, Rep. Sosa

From: A constituent in Hillsboro, OR

September 18, 2025

Oregon must do something to ensure everyone who wants one is able to get a covid vaccine. My immunocompromised spouse called our local Walgreens pharmacy and was told he could walk in and get the new covid vaccine. As he was waiting in line at the pharmacy, they received a call that policy had changed, and he was turned away without getting the vaccine. The process is too confusing and obstacle-laden for people doing the best research they can to figure out how to get it, who have insurance and a PCP. How are disadvantaged folks supposed to get one? For the public safety and health of all Oregonians, you must take action NOW to make covid vaccines easily accessible!
