It is deeply concerning that the current administration has removed and altered so much vital environmental data and information from government websites, especially related to climate change, environmental justice, and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. Transparent access to accurate scientific data and resources is essential for public education, participation in decision-making, and holding authorities accountable. Removing online climate information undermines our ability to understand and address the existential threat of climate change. Erasing environmental justice and equity data obstructs efforts to protect vulnerable communities from disproportionate harm. These actions impede meaningful public discourse and evidence-based policymaking on critical issues affecting us all. I urge you to take immediate action to reverse this censorship and ensure comprehensive, unimpeded public access to government environmental data and resources online. Our democracy and collective well-being depend on the free flow of information from credible, authoritative sources. Please work to restore and strengthen online access to factual climate, environmental justice, and diversity data across agencies to uphold transparency and the public interest.
