No military action in Cuba

To: Sen. Smith, Rep. Omar, Sen. Klobuchar

From: A constituent in Minneapolis, MN

September 26

I am writing as your constituent to urge you to firmly oppose any United States military action against Cuba. Military intervention risks catastrophic regional instability, severe humanitarian consequences, and the needless endangerment of American service members. History shows that armed regime change creates protracted crises rather than democratic progress. Furthermore, Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution gives Congress sole authority over war powers; no administration may initiate hostilities without explicit legislative approval. I ask you to: Co-sponsor War Powers legislation prohibiting unauthorized military action in Cuba. Bar defense appropriations from funding offensive operations or blockades against Cuba. Promote diplomacy and humanitarian engagement over military escalation. Please uphold congressional oversight and reject another costly foreign conflict.
