Please vote NO on HB 486. Public schools are funded by all taxpayers and are meant for all kids - Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, atheist, and everyone in between. They should be neutral spaces, not places where one religion gets special treatment. If parents want faith-based instruction, they can choose a private religious school. That’s their right. But forcing Christian teaching into public schools? That crosses the line. Public schools already teach religion’s role in U.S. history, the Puritans, the Great Awakenings, MLK Jr.’s sermons. That’s history. What HB 486 does is tip the scales, presenting Christianity as the “correct” or “preferred” version of America’s story. Bottom line: HB 486 doesn’t belong in Ohio’s public schools. Respect separation of church and state. Respect families of every background. Respect our kids.
