Protect Health Information for the Disabled
To: Justices Court
From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV
April 23, 2025
Establishing databases containing personally identifiable information about individuals with disabilities raises significant privacy and ethical concerns. Such databases could perpetuate harmful stereotypes, enable discrimination, and infringe upon the rights of disabled people to privacy and self-determination. We must prioritize protecting the privacy and dignity of disabled individuals by prohibiting the collection and retention of their personal data without explicit consent. Respecting personal autonomy and preventing misuse of sensitive information should be paramount. I urge taking immediate action to halt any unauthorized databases related to disabilities and to implement robust safeguards ensuring the privacy rights of this vulnerable population are upheld.
