Reject transphobic resolution, uphold human rights and dignity

To: Sen. Sinema, Sen. Kelly, Rep. Ciscomani

From: A verified voter in Tucson, AZ

November 4

H.R. 769 - Opposing Discrimination Against Transgender Athletes This resolution, H.R. 769, seeks to deny the fundamental rights and human dignity of transgender women and girls under the false pretense of "protecting" ciswomen athletes. It perpetuates dangerous myths about transgender people that enable violence, harassment, and marginalization of this vulnerable minority group. The resolution directly contradicts Title IX's intent to prevent sex-based discrimination and runs counter to overwhelming scientific evidence showing transgender women maintain no significant athletic advantage after undergoing gender-affirming treatment. Rather than declaring an exclusionary "Real Women's Day," our representatives should champion policies grounded in human rights principles that foster an inclusive society celebrating and protecting all women's rights regardless of gender identity or sex assigned at birth.
